Who qualifies for BFMA’s services?
We assist individuals receiving Social Security benefits who have been deemed unable to manage their finances due to disability, age, or health reasons.
Does BFMA charge a fee?
If allowed by SSA, a small monthly fee may be charged. However, many services are provided at no cost to the client.
Can family still be involved?
Yes. We coordinate with family, guardians, and caseworkers while always acting in the best interest of the client.
How do I refer someone to BFMA?
Call us to discuss the individual’s situation. If eligible, a BFMA representative will meet with the client and their caseworker at the SSA office to complete paperwork.
Is BFMA a government agency?
No. We’re an independent nonprofit approved by the SSA to serve as a representative payee.
